Lance flinched at the direct mention of the kiss, his entire body tensing as if struck. His eyes squeezed shut for a moment, a pained expression crossing his face before he could school his features back into a mask of indifference. "I don't know what you're talking about," he mumbled, the words barely audible, a pathetic denial that held no weight in the charged atmosphere between them. "It was... it was nothing. We got caught up in the moment. It was a mistake. People make mistakes." The words were like ice, each one a deliberate attempt to minimize, to invalidate the intensity of what had happened between them. "It's not a big deal, Keith. You're making it a big deal." Or: After two weeks of being avoided by Lance, Keith is officially done being patient. Cornering him in an empty hallway seems like a good idea at the time. Getting trapped in a maintenance closet with him was definitely not part of the plan. Sequel to Enthral (Me) and part 2 of The Art of Falling Apart series. While this fic can be (somewhat) read on its own, it contains spoilers for and directly follows the events of Enthral (Me). So it might be confusing to read it as a stand-alone.
