Fics like Out of Formation

When Jaune Arc loses his weapon during a combat exercise and freezes at the worst possible moment, he's forced to confront a hard truth: if he's going to survive as a Huntsman, he needs more than a sword and a shield. Desperate to improve, he turns to Beacon's best hand-to-hand fighter, Yang Xiao Long—who promptly turns him down. But when Yang discovers him training alone before dawn, stubbornly teaching himself to box from videos on his Scroll, she reluctantly decides to give him a chance. What begins as a simple training partnership soon draws in Pyrrha Nikos, whose own carefully ordered world is starting to shift in ways she doesn't quite understand. Between early morning workouts, increasingly complicated friendships, and rumors that seem to follow them everywhere, the three find themselves building connections none of them expected. As Beacon's brightest days give way to its darkest, they'll discover that strength isn't about standing alone—it's about finding the courage to trust people enough to stand beside them.
