Fics like we're looking for something dumb to do (hey, baby, i think i wanna marry you)

Peter feels her entire nervous system shut down. Not metaphorically. Literally. There's a precise second when her brain seems to shut down like an overheated computer, unable to process the image before her: Happy Hogan holding an obscenely expensive engagement ring toward her while Tony Stark watches in absolute silence. The entire universe stops. Or perhaps just her dignity. Her eyes travel slowly from the diamond to Happy's face, then to Mr. Stark, then back to the diamond. "It's an idea." Mr. Stark says, looking at her, waiting. She is Peter Parker. And she is Spider-Man. And apparently she's now also Tony Stark's fiancée.
