Fics like Notations on Oaths

”I am concerned that the continuance of this discussion defeats the point of it entirely,” the half-elf said. “You must believe I have seen the Mithril you seek, otherwise you would not press. But then again, if I had not seen the Mithril, would I not say that? Although I suppose it would depend on the circumstances of my Oath. After all, I had I sworn not to reveal anything about the Dwarven mines I could neither confirm nor deny even if I had not seen Mithril. But if my oath were specifically regarding a deposit of say, rubies I could, safely, confirm I had not seen Mithril.” There was not, Gil-Galad reflected, enough wine in Lindon for this conversation. In which I inflict my Eldritch Elrond on Rings of Power’s Gil-Galad.
