Fics like Optimus Prime's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Cycle

Optimus has watched Starscream, decepticon air commander and loyal (ish) second to the ruthless Megatron, die, approximately twenty times. It's disturbing. He doesn't like Starscream. Nobody likes Starscream. But Optimus doesn't enjoy seeing anyone pass away; it's the thing that constantly makes him hesitate to continue the war. If he were fighting for a lesser cause, he would have surrendered to end it and, in the process, end the continuous loss of life the fight cost. - Or, the one where Optimus gets stuck in a time loop that resets every time Starscream dies. A mech who remembers every time he's failed to save someone, and a seeker who is not only doomed to die, but is utterly insufferable. What could possibly go wrong?
