Fics like give you my wild (give you a child)

“I’m tired of walking away from nice things. I just wanna find something good and stick with it. And…” Taking a deep breath, Rey announced, “I’m gonna have a baby.” The Commander physically jolted, his eyes darting to Rey’s flat stomach. “You’re pregnant?” Rey made a little huff and crossed her arms over her abdomen as if to shield it from the ultrasound of his gaze. “No! Not yet, anyway. But I want to start a family, and you seem like you’re ready for that.” He blinked. “What?” Rey sounded exasperated. “You’re got a stable supply of food and water. You’re strong and well-established–” “I… you want me–” “What?” Rey squeaked, flushing beet red to her ears. “I meant you the settlement, not you the… you!” The Commander’s eye twitched. “That wasn’t very clear.” — The Eating Plague has decimated the Earth's population, and just a fraction of humanity is left in the aftermath. Miles outside the bombed-out wreckage of a major city, the Commander—formerly Kylo Ren, once Ben Solo—oversees a small, tight-knit community of survivors. Then a hot-headed scavenger turns up and complicates his life.
