Fics like And I wash up on the shore

Why would the local legend of tropical Cinnabar center around a pokémon that lived on an icy mountain, anyway? It couldn’t be true, just didn’t make sense, and Red refused to write anything like that in his pokédex. His frustration only grew as trainers parroted variations of the same story at him over and over. By the time he found himself landing ashore at Cinnabar Island, he was almost entirely fed up with the whole endeavor. Well, maybe he could stomach asking one more person. Because there was Blue, posture slouched and lazy, just glancing around outside the pokémon center, loitering like he had nothing better to do.
