Fics like The Women I Left for Hell

“You shouldn’t coddle her, she must be strong,” I told the sapien while the girl slept on her lap. “She’s alone. She must learn to depend only on herself.” She smiled. “Are you… jealous of a child?” “Huh?” “Do you want me to mother you too, so you don’t feel left out?” she asked and I choked, flustered for the first time in decades. “There’s room for you too.” She patted her thigh. “Come lay here,” she teased me and I got so indignant, but also flushed. Vergil doesn’t care for anything but power; not when he meets an archer who belittles him for getting in her way before disappearing to search for a little girl; and neither about the kid he finds next in the same Trismagia’s Dimension Arius threw him in. He’s annoyed but he doesn’t… care. Vergil. Doesn’t. Care. About. Anything. Anymore. But he has no choice because the kid has Dante’s locket and now he’s stuck with her, and the little shit insists on looking for the awful, disagreeable sapien who shoved him off, but even when he doesn’t care, he was once a kid like her and he wished someone had… saved him, so he reluctantly joins her. He must wait for the eclipse anyways. NETFLIX S2!
