Fics like Stories Make Us

“I get it,” Aziraphale whispered. “But please. You don’t have to delete everything. It isn’t too late.” Crowley looked away. Wasn’t it? The empty space surrounding them seemed to scream at him, Too late, it’s too late! He wondered if the Earth still existed. The archangel shook her head. “I should have known it would not work. Nothing ever works when you two are involved. He tried to change you once, you know?” “He what?” Crowley said, for a moment forgetting about the Book and the emptiness. “The Metatron wanted to rewrite your relationship. Make you what you were supposed to be: enemies. It didn’t take. No matter what he wrote, you would just ignore it and end up the same anyway.” --- OR: Michael has escaped to the Heart of the Universe with the Book of Life and things are disappearing. Crowley and Aziraphale go to stop her, but end up in the bookshop alone. But this time, they don’t give up everything and try to fix it instead.
