Fics like Intermission

The All-Star Game is supposed to be harmless. Bright lights, broadcast smiles, forced camaraderie, famous rivals pretending none of it matters. Shane can handle all of that. What he cannot handle is Ilya two corridors away, wearing the wrong jersey, captaining the wrong team, and acting like they are not in love. Then a bomb threat empties the arena before puck drop. The players are told to stay in their dressing rooms. The delay becomes a lockdown. The lockdown becomes captivity. Below the ice, with the league’s most valuable players held as hostages, Shane and Ilya have to survive the night without reaching for each other, without giving themselves away, and without letting fear turn into something worse. OR A hostage crisis, three targeted All-Stars, and Shane trying not to lose his mind every time Ilya opens his mouth.
