Fics like The Red Strings That Bind Us

Currently on summer break because of heat wave. Next chapter will be up when it's cooler. “You have not arrived here on pure accident, Keira Hagai.” A chill crept down her spine, the smile vanishing with it. She had not told Onin her name. And she doubted, Pecker had told the old woman beforehand. “Alas, your mission is not what you think it to be right now. You wish to know where your family is, so you can save them if necessary and bring them back home.” “I don’t wish it, I want to. I promised it.” Though no one but herself had been witness to that particular promise. “Sometimes what we want is not the very thing we need.” A story about being far from home. In a city too large, too loud, too unforgiving, where strangers become allies and answers come slowly. And about a girl who never planned to grow up this way—but does anyway.
