Fics like a new day will begin

Mother's Day has always been difficult for Grace. Anything to do with mothers has been difficult since losing her. Having forgotten her when he woke up in space doesn't make it any better. It only means he has to cycle through every terrible memory again. - Rocky stomps one of his limbs. "No. Rocky want to know about Grace parent." "Fine, fine. When you go back to Erid and they ask why you're a Grace expert and not a human expert, don't come crying to me. My parents were... Let's see..." Grace frowns. His chest lights up with a strange warmth when he thinks of them, a gentle joy with dread creeping around the corners like a cozy Sunday night with the week looming ahead. He knows he loved them and that he was loved in return. Everything else, though, draws a blank. Grace's shoulders slump. "I don't remember. Sorry, Rocky."
