Fics like Out of System

Updated: The National City Comets did not draft Kara Danvers to save them. At least, that is what everyone keeps saying. To fans, she is a reach. To the front office, she is an inherited problem. To her teammates, she is a quiet rookie with clean passes, strange instincts, and a habit of making dead points live again. Kara knows how to be useful. She is less certain she knows how to be undeniable. Lena Luthor has bigger problems than volleyball. After Lex’s disappearance leaves Luthor Corp under siege, the Comets are supposed to be one more asset to stabilize, polish, and sell. Nothing more. But the team refuses to stay abstract. So does Kara. In a league fighting to be seen, a franchise fighting to become serious, and a season built on pressure, Lena and Kara learn that the hardest thing to control is not failure. It is wanting.
