Fics like Moy solnyshko

When Ilya finally found him, Shane sat with his legs tucked into his chest, arms looped around his calves. His head was angled towards the wind and his gaze– It was cold, vacant. As if he’d died just before Ilya showed up. A dwindling flame frozen in time and the world had yet to catch up. It felt too familiar to a scene two decades ago. Ilya’d been so excited to show her something, but the what had slipped from his mind years ago, replaced with gaunt eyes and pale skin. “Moy solnyshko?” Ilya said. He wasn’t sure if the words had enough weight to land audibly with his mind drifting elsewhere. Shane didn’t even stir. His mother hadn’t either. He lurched forward, fingers clasped around Shane’s shoulder. “Shane–” Shane turned towards him owlishly, blinking. His eyebrows lifted a beat after. “Ilya,” Shane exhaled, a tired smile tugging at his lips. “When did you get here?” Or, Ilya notices a change within Shane. (Ilya's perspective throughout To my dearest.)
