Fics like Two birds on a wire

Hollander's parents must be supportive and nice, if he's thinking of coming out to them. Ilya doesn't even dare to fantasize about coming out to his family. The closest he's come to that are the nightmares about being outed. He doesn't want to even think about what that would entail for him. But he knows. Fuck Hollander. He even managed to make Ilya feel sorry for him. Because Ilya can't fathom how dreadful life would be without the option to choose a nice woman to learn to love, if circumstances ever got dire. But Hollander won't have to think of that anymore. Which is nice, of course. Ilya is not a monster. But fuck him. -- OR: Shane Hollander comes out in 2012 and he's determined to prove he can be queer, Asian, and the best player in the league. Ilya Rozanov is none of those things. Except maybe the last one.
