Fics like Much Ado About Mutton

Prompt 793: To cement the treaty that prevents their powerful neighbors from doing them harm, Prince A, a prey-species shifter (or hybrid), is given as tribute to the royal family of the predator-species. Chosen for his unimportance to the line of succession (and, A is sure, because of his physical deformity), A assumes he's doomed, to be toyed with or eaten at the whim of the predator prince he's handed off to. But the treaty is full of archaic language that even the prey-species royal viziers couldn't fully decipher--it turns out that the predators intend to fulfill the marriage pact they've agreed to.
