Dunk has two soul marks appear on his 18th name-day: one on his left arm and one on the back of his neck. It's known that your soul brand appears where your soulbound first touches you. But, being a commoner, Dunk was never educated on what his marks truly mean. Commoners aren't expected to meet their soulbound, so why waste time educating them on the subject. After the death of his ser, Dunk continues toward the tournament in hopes of finding glory as a knight. He finds a lot more than glory.
