Fics like Company and Conversation

My boyfriend had been in a medically induced coma for eleven days. The doctors were cautiously optimistic, which was just another way of saying they don't know. I'd been visiting every day, sitting next to him, the machines showing him stable, but stable isn't the same as back. I needed him back. I'd never been the type to do this, but I found something that might help. It required a summoning circle, some sulfur powder, and some candles. I ended up kneeling on my floor at night saying words I didn't fully understand to whatever would listen. The ritual worked. The incubus who answered wanted only conversation and company in exchange for a cure. A few hours of my time. It seemed perfectly reasonable.
