Wei Wuxian had it good, for early in his teenage years he discovered a surefire way to "cheat" the system. By convincing everyone around him that he was an omega, he had a built in excuse to hide in seclusion for four or five days at a time and avoid whatever annoyances life had thrown his way. The ruse backfired when Madam Yu grew suspicious, and no one suspected a thing when he actually presented. Karma came for him, and in no subtle way. A trip to the palace where his sister was supposed to be presented to the Emperor for selection as concubine goes horribly awry when Wei Wuxian ends up in the alpha's bed instead. And things get worse when he's accused of a ruse to steal the Emperor's seed to birth the future crown prince. All Wei Wuxian wants to do is go back to his idyllic life in Lotus Pier, but extraneous circumstances keep him bound there against his will. And, unwittingly enough, his presence has caused quite the disruption for the small faction of saboteurs who wish to regain the crown for their clan.
