Fics like coming up roses

Cody grits his teeth, trying to swallow his anger. It wasn’t the kid’s fault. He didn’t know any better. “He shouldn’t have that,” Cody says coarsely, ignoring the way it pains his chest to watch the boy’s face fall. “It doesn’t belong to him.” “My uncle is not a thief,” The boy contests, crossing his arms tightly across his chest. “Maybe you’re the thief!” Cody sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose between his fingers. “You don’t know what you’re talking about, kid.” “My name is Luke,” He says firmly, dropping his arms to his side and straightening his back. Cody looks back up to make eye contact with him, surprised by the fiery determination in his little eyes. “And for your information, we Kenobis are honorable men. We certainly do not steal.” - Or, Seven years after the conclusion of the Clone Wars, Cody is still unable to forgive himself for the actions he committed while under the influence of his inhibitor chip. When he stumbles across a small boy with a not-so-small problem, he decides it's time for him to finally right his wrongs.
