Fics like What's Coldplay Without Will?

There's a Coldplay interview from the X&Y era in which Chris and Jonny answer a question about cosmic references in Coldplay lyrics, which includes: Chris: Without trying to sound like an idiot, I just love singing about planets and space, and just... to me it's just like real escapism. Maybe it's because we're from the Star Wars generation, but you know the whole idea of intergalactic travel... I mean, if we didn't have Will in the band, we'd sing about space a lot more. I'd sing about spaceships and light sabers and... Jonny: Aliens. Chris: ...aliens. This story takes them completely seriously and follows Coldplay characters into an alternate timeline where Will is kicked out of the band during early recording sessions, joins a different band, and doesn't look back. Coldplay's music and trajectory turn out... a bit differently.
