Fics like Spiders from space

Pethar remembers the sky when it broke. He remembers fire, and noise, and the way his world—his home—was there one moment and gone the next. He remembers being put into the shuttle, being told to survive, to live, even if it meant being alone. Then Earth. Loud, bright, overwhelming Earth, with its strange air and stranger people, and a city that never seems to stop hurting. Gotham isn’t Varos, and humans aren’t anything like his own kind… but they take him in anyway. The Waynes are confusing, stubborn, and far too kind for their own good. It’s fine. Everything is fine. He is definitely not slowly becoming attached to a pack of emotionally damaged humans who insist on feeding him and calling him “kid.” Definitely not. (or: alien spider-child survives planetary extinction, gets adopted by Gotham’s most dysfunctional family, and slowly starts to hate the idea of leaving)
