Keith lays back against the roof and Lance copies him. The sky is bright, almost painfully blue above them. Wisps of cloud move steadily toward the west, far above them. “Do you ever think it feels… too good?” he says. Or: Lance can tell that Keith has something on his mind — and is avoiding talking about it — because he’s spent the last week sequestered on the roof of his shack-turned-workshop, fixing the roof. A roof that Lance knows doesn’t need fixing.
