Fics like When the Dust Settles

Slight trigger warning! There will be mentions of spousal abuse, sexual abuse, alcoholism, divorce, and verbal abuse. I have had this idea in mind for a while, and was ready to create it fully. My husband and I LOVE watching LHONP, and I have always wished that Dr. Baker didn’t end up alone. The concept of another young lady coming into his life didn’t seem optimal for me, so insert Mrs. Callie O’ Conner, and her two boys Stephen and Patrick. Callie O Conner and her sons Steven (10) and Patrick (8) move to Walnut Grove. Callie’s abusive alcoholic husband was a former wealthy banker. After a large stock crash, he lost his job and all his money. Callie getting fed up with the abuse, began praying for a miracle. Callie snaps when Jack set his hands on her oldest son Stephen one night. Her father writes her a letter detailing a farmstead in Walnut Grove, aware of the situation. The O’ Conner family flees in the night, with signed divorce papers filed. She learns of Dr. Baker, and sees him for a sickness. *CALLIE, STEPHEN, PATRICK, JUDGE LARSON, MRS. LARSON, JACK, AND ANY OTHER CHARACTERS THAT DON’T APPEAR IN THE SERIES ARE ORIGINAL CHARACTERS*
