Rhaenyra had told him about her marriage tour. About the long hours on the ship and the even longer ones spent sitting before the sea of suitors who had come from every corner of the kingdom to fight for her hand. About the endless chatter full of grand words that actually meant very little. About how lords and ladies from every corner of the realm had come forward to compete for the hand of the princess and heir to the Throne. More to secure the Throne than to win the princess. Jace now found himself in the same situation as his mother. When, at eighteen, he still showed no interest in taking a husband, his grandfather, or more precisely, Queen Alicent and the King’s Hand, Otto Hightower, had suggested subjecting him to the same torture as Rhaenyra. Or marry Aegon. But Jace would have slit his own throat before marrying his uncle. - English isn't my first language, so please keep that in mind - Update: October 9
