Fics like This Little Life

“You’ve been coming here for years. You always bring me back a yogurt parfait and a latte. I guess when I woke up this morning I realized that you don’t have to do that anymore.” Little crumbs of muffin litter Shane’s chin. Ilya wants to reach out and dust them away but he can’t bring himself to drop Shane’s hand. Not in this perfect moment. “I will always bring you home coffee,” Ilya says. He wants to spend the rest of his life showing up for Shane in every way he needs. Shane squeezes his hand and gives a slight shake of his head before taking a long drink of his coffee. Or, Post Fanmail outing Shane and Ilya learn to love each other in public.
