Fics like One Day I Am Gonna Grow Wings

“I think…” Nancy says quietly. “I think you’re scared of getting left behind. And… I think you’re scared that it’s already happening.” After a year of wallowing in his grief alone in Hawkins, Mike discovers the true significance behind the painting pinned to his bedroom wall, and, with some strong encouragement from Nancy, he follows Will to NYU. Will, while confused and frustrated at his inability to shake off the feelings he still has for Mike, welcomes him into his new life and the two begin to build a bridge back to each other. But Will’s boyfriend Carlton isn’t as keen... Or rather how, for the first time in his life, Mike Wheeler isn’t too late for the one thing that matters most. (aka: a Post-Canon College Byler fic bc they absolutely go to NYU together, are you kidding??)
