Fics like It Takes Courage

Ryland Grace is a coward. Always has been. He doesn't take risks, and his failed scientific career, failed friendships, and failed romantic life don't prove otherwise. But he saved Rocky, whether that be out of selflessness or the fear of being alone again. He took a risk. Grace is glum in the midst of waiting for Taumoeba-06 to evolve (any day now), burdened by loneliness and touch-starvation. Attentive Rocky notices this in Grace's demeanor and checks in on him. Grace confesses how much he misses physical contact and surprisingly discovers the feeling is mutual. Rocky engineers a solution. Something that will drastically change the course of their relationship.
