Fics like The Six-Year Rookie

Troy Barrett is traded to the Ottawa Centaurs after bringing up the assault allegations against Dallas Kent and attacking the star-centre at practice. After years of being treated poorly by the Toronto Guardians, he struggles to adapt to the Centaurs' more accepting nature. Over the course of his first year with the Centaurs, he faces repercussions for speaking out against Dallas, deals with threats from the league, navigates a whole new team that is primed to hate him, and faces several media scandals. This is pre Troy/Harris, and Shane/Ilya is not mentioned, but I picture it being in the background.
