Fics like Kitty Pryde and Illyana’s Story

1986: Nineteen year old Kitty Pryde realizes the depths of her feelings for her best friend, Illyana. Will she repress them, and bury them away? Or will she act on them, and what will be the result? After Secret Wars was a big success, the X-Men transitioned from soapy character driven stories to big crossover events which sacrificed any character work in the service of blockbuster gimmickry. What my series presupposes is … what if they didn’t? What if we said, “Oops! All Lifedeath!”
