Fics like Hiccup and the Game of Life

Years before dragons reshape Berk, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III discovers a hidden cove with ancient altars to forgotten gods. Desperate for somewhere he belongs, he begins leaving offerings. Something answers. A year later, he wakes to a strange screen: “Welcome to the Game of Life.” With a system he barely understands and the favor of old gods, Hiccup begins to change—growing stronger, learning forbidden skills, and quietly befriending dragons. But when Berk demands he become something he’s not— Hiccup chooses to leave. ~~~ Some of the characters are @HermesSerpents OCs in their fic “Claws and Calls,” and as per the note left at the end of Chapter 40: “Feel free to remix this idea into your own fic, make it into a podfic, make a video, make fanart, or whatever you want for this fic. This applies to all the ocs within and all the plots. I write what I want to see more of in the world. I'd love to be tagged or notified of it! And if you wanna chat ideas or brainstorm im all ears on tumblr: hermesserpent-stuff.” The inspiration for the gaming mechanic came from @Nordiamus’s Game On! Series
