Fics like Empty Shells

▚▚▚▚▚▚ is a runner. A digitized consciousness, she scours the fallen colony of Tau Ceti IV for salvage to pay off a hopeless debt she doesn't remember accruing. The running doesn't bother her so much. The fool she's been partnered with, ░░░░-3, is the problem. He's impulsive, imperceptive, and couldn't hit a barn from inside it, but she's stuck with the guy. After days of spectacularly disastrous runs, she takes a different approach: mentoring the poor bastard. While the two explore the ruins of Tau Ceti, they encounter runners from ▚▚▚▚▚▚'s mysterious past, and ░░░░-3 learns much about his new partner that she would have preferred stayed secret.
