Fics like homesick

“Why Grace sad, question?” Grace stiffens slightly, leaning into his legs pulled tight against his chest. The synthetically perfect ocean water comes up to nip at his rubber-toed Converse, leaving slight droplets on the material. Grace wipes away organic saltwater from his face with his sleeve. He shakes his head. “It’s kinda hard to explain, Rock.” or Even after a few years, Grace is still having a bit of trouble acclimating to his new home on Erid.
