Fics like red earth, firelight
“No, you know what, Buck?” Eddie stepped up to him, tone biting, “I’m trying to tell you that I care about you. And that I’m here for you.” Eddie tilted his chin up, lips tight with anger. “But if you’re going to be an asshole—” Buck’s laugh cut him off, loud and mean. “Oh, fuck off, Eddie.” For the second time that night, Eddie was shocked into silence, not just at the words, but at the ice in Buck’s gaze. “I’m a grown man, and despite what everyone in the state of New Mexico thinks, you’re not my fucking husband.” The words hit Eddie like a physical blow. Buck let them hang there, then leaned in, vicious and deliberate. “I want you to leave.” or, post 9x14, buck tries to push eddie away. eddie pushes back.
