Fics like 4c backstory yay yippee 🎉 🎉

“Talk to me, David.” Ish looks at him over the top of his clipboard, tapping his pen against it. They’re back in the interrogation room. David’s had to duck his head to walk in through the door, earlier. He’s sitting opposite Ish, back of his chair right up against the wall. “I’m not telling you shit,” David laughs. Ish ignores this. “You keep trying to escape,” he says, like David doesn’t know that. “And your files state that you’re a… flight risk.” He places his clipboard off to the side. “You can tell me what’s wrong, David. I’m not– I don’t want to hurt you more than truly necessary.” David thinks about the infection, about the cramped interrogation room with a low ceiling, about roots spreading throughout his blood. Does he really have anything to lose? “I miss the sky,” he starts, and Ish leans in. // how 4c came to be. the world is a big, big place, and he is stuck in the smallest rooms with the most closed-off man he's ever met.
