Fics like and as the curtains close

Tim knows these promises; Dick will step back and act normal and pretend like it isn’t tearing him up inside. He’ll put space between himself and Tim. Stop teaming up with him on patrol, stop talking Tim out to cute little cafes he finds in Bludhaven. He’ll stop inviting him over for movie nights. It doesn’t matter that Tim’s been the one avoiding him for months, careful about how he interacts with his brother. How much, how often. Dick will close that door and Tim will be too late. Dick will somehow always be too busy to stop up at the manor. He’ll pull away from the family again, he’ll pull away from Tim. Tim will lose his brother again.
