There’s something about the way that whole thing went down at the bar—the way Buck looked at Eddie when that woman got their attention. Eddie wasn’t interested; he was more than happy to make it to last call with Buck and stumble back into the hotel together, maybe have another drink in one of their rooms before calling it a night, but the way Buck looked at him… Eddie knew Buck wanted Eddie to throw his hat in the ring. First dibs sounds awful, but it's sort of true. He’s been acutely invested in Eddie’s sex life lately, but that look. Buck wide-eyed as he gauged Eddie’s reaction, like if Eddie gave him eyes that said No, not me but not you either, that would have been it. They’d reject her together. Continue as they were. But Eddie gave him a different look, the one that said Go for it, and then Buck did. As if he wanted Eddie’s permission. Eddie has an eye-opening moment at the bar in Nashville.
