Fics like I Have Forgiven Jesus

There aren't too many rules in the wild west. Don't steal if you want to keep your hands, don't hurt nobody unless you want be hurt back, and don't kill someone if you want to keep your life. In some places, there's not even that. The town of Pity ain't much different. Scott's daddy taught him the exact sort of order to keep as the only lawman far as can be called for. How to protect their town and the people in it—nothing more, nothing less. Even so, with the looming of the church's tower just outside his window, Scott can't help but feel judged by something far bigger than the law every night. — Scott's struggles with his sexuality, religion, and the time period's society, all while trying to fulfill his duty as the sheriff of Pity.
