Fics like The Yule Lads (Omnitrix AU)

That’s about where the conversation ended. Hilda wasn’t certain of whether or not her friends recognized the meaning behind that, but as she looked down at Twig trotting at her heels, she could tell that he did. The way she’d handled his disappearance was wrong–she’d snuck out of bed, scared everyone half to death, and ultimately hadn’t changed the outcome at all, compared to if she’d stayed in bed. Just because good things can come from big mistakes, like Ben said, didn’t necessarily mean that they will. The yearly gift-sharing event might help Hilda to feel less guilty, she thought, since it would act as a labor of love on her part. And this was an interesting holiday after all to partake in, with its plant-based decorations, and the many strings of lights, and the strange triangular house in that clearing over there… Feeling guilty about her recent actions, Hilda hopes that the Trolberg Winter Festival will take her mind off things, even make up for some of it. But when Trolberg is visited by individuals with less forgiving beliefs, Hilda's holidays may not be so happy (You don't have to know Ben 10 to enjoy this; just Hilda)
