Fics like IOU

A sniper codenamed Hawkeye probably shouldn’t be so oblivious, and an agent who’s been called Fury’s one good eye probably shouldn’t have such a big blind spot. It’s a good thing SHIELD is composed of responsible adults who’ve all got their acts together. “We’re alone, right?” Clint asked. “Yes.” Phil wondered what strange question or confession it was going to be this time. Painkillers tended to make Clint ramble, removing the filter that kept him from voicing every stray observation, offbeat attempt at humor, or quietly-filed fact. The last hospital stay had resulted in a prolonged talk with Steve about Johnny Cash lyrics and the unlikelihood of Clint ever having been to Reno, let alone having senselessly murdered a man there. “Do you think--” Clint licked his lips and looked away, abruptly bashful. When he glanced back at Phil, he seemed surprisingly earnest. “Is there any chance that I could maybe, um, ask you for a blowjob?” Phil could practically hear the record-scratch of his brain refusing to understand the question.
