Fics like belong with you, belong with me

I need to get it together. I’ve got a long trip ahead of me, and I can’t spend half of it mourning the only true friend I’ve had in years. Or can I? It’s been enough time, right? My body heads to the control panel without a moment to spare; it’s time for my daily ritual. I’ve only got so many Rocky checks left before he’s truly gone. There. He’s still there. Fainter every day, but even seeing the light makes me feel a little warmer. Or a slightly longer look at Grace's time alone as he returns to Earth. To no one's surprise, he spends most of it missing Rocky.
