Fics like Oasis

You have been desperately meandering across every known and unknown universe for so long that time itself has lost all meaning. Your mission is to resolve the paradox and save the Invincible II. But even the best Captains are selfish sometimes. The Warp Core will still be there, somewhere, when You're ready to move on with Your quest. You never know where Your choices will lead You, and You don't really spend too much time in this room when You do land here. What if You never stumble upon this particular glowing door again? What if this is Your last chance at a peaceful respite? Is it really so wrong to take a breather, and have a little reminder of the person You are truly searching all of time and space for? Even if the man in front of You with the over-the-ear headphones is only an approximation of the good buddy Head Engineer You stupidly misplaced. Just a break, a hopeful glimpse into what could be, and a reminder that all of Your suffering is not for nothing.
