Fics like Girlfriend, Apparently?

Wonyoung has always had excellent self-control. Unfortunately, that did not apply to one specific fan call. Fan: “Does Yujin have a girlfriend?” Wonyoung: “No. I’m the girlfriend.” She is so deeply, catastrophically fucked. Because here’s the thing: their dynamic has already been weird for years. Not cute-ship weird. Not best-friends-weird. The restrained, hyper-aware kind. Yujin is all skinship and loud affection with everyone else—arms around shoulders, laughter spilling, hands always reaching— —and then there’s Wonyoung. Who gets the careful distance. The polite smile. The split-second eye contact that feels like getting hit by a truck. Maybe it’s years of biting her tongue. Maybe it’s that one fan post shipping Yujin and Karina that snapped something inside her like a glowstick at a concert. Whatever possessed her, she said it. Out loud. On camera. Now she’s made it everyone’s problem. Liz is screaming. Rei is cackling. Gaeul is asking, “You did what?” Leeseo is refreshing Twitter like it’s the stock market. And so begins Jang Wonyoung’s most loser era yet.
