Fics like I Got A Feeling I'm Falling

It's the summer of 1938, and Bucky Barnes has problems. Not the kind he can fix with his fists or a double shift at the docks. The kind that wears a faded yellow dress and sits one step above him on the stoop. You're his best friend's little sister. You've been part of the furniture of his life since before he can remember. He taught you to throw a punch. You taught him that a person could ruin you, just by existing in the same room. He's been in love with you since he was fifteen. Six years later, nothing's changed. He still watches you across every room. Still takes other girls out in the desperate, failing hope that someone, anyone, will make him stop thinking about you. None of them do. And Steve knows. Steve's always known. So when you invite the boys out to Coney Island for the day and Steve Rogers, that little shit, conveniently bows out at the last second—Bucky knows exactly what he's being set up for. A whole day alone with you. The train, the boardwalk, the Cyclone, the beach. Somewhere between the skee-ball and the sand between your toes, he runs out of reasons to keep his mouth shut.
