“Do you actually have a place to live?” Dennis has never been a good liar, and Jack Abbot’s unrelenting stare might as well be a polygraph test. “I’m currently between places,” he admits. Abbot works his jaw, head tilting to the side as he continues to assess Dennis like he’s a patient in his ED. “Do you own a car?” He asks, his voice sounding softer to Dennis but maybe it's just dampened by the sound of his own pulse in his ears. “Not at the moment, no, I’m actually-” “Between cars?” Abbot finishes for him. Shame pushes Dennis’s head down. “Yeah, something like that.” Abbot continues to stare at him -does this guy ever blink?- before he sighs and shakes his head. "Alright, pack your shit," He orders, clearly having heard enough. - Jack discovers Dennis instead of Trinity. Behind closed doors, neither of them is really holding it together, and an unlikely support system is formed.
