He knows. He knows. He knows. He fucked up, there's no way in hell Hyunjin keeps this a secret. No way this doesn’t come back to bite him. His parents will find out. They’ll be furious. He’s ruined everything. When Jeongin returns to the library, his steps are hesitant. Hyunjin is seated again, flipping idly through a book like nothing happened. He looks up when Jeongin enters. "I didn't mean to scare you," Hyunjin says quietly. He stands, and makes his way in front of Jeongin once more, His hand lifts, thumb brushing gently under Jeongin’s eye, wiping away a tear Jeongin hadn’t even noticed falling. "I won't tell anyone," he whispers. "I'm a beta…" Jeongin tries weakly, "I swear to you…I am." "You're not." Hyunjin smiles, "But you want people to think you are, and I will respect that, okay?" OR: Jeongin has lived his entire life wrapped up in a lie of his parents design, a carefully constructed and long term solution to their biggest failure; that is until Hwang Hyunjin shows up in his life, and starts peeling away at the slowly lifting edges.
