Fics like Engraved

Pain was once like an old friend for Starscream. Made it so easy to harm others weaker than him. So easy to draw pain that wasn’t his for once. And so, so easy to kill. But Starscream doesn’t want to be that mech anymore. It has taken energon, exhaust, tears, and death itself to not be that mech anymore. Yet, here he stands before his conjunx endera, Bumblebee chained to their berth like a prettied sacrifice and Starscream with a diamond-tipped engraving knife in his tense hands. Bumblebee struggles with some ignored insecurities after he and Starscream perform their Ritus and settle into their lives as newly bonded conjunx endura. Starscream in turn is nervous to confront his past history as a victim and perpetrator of violence. Peace and domestic bliss in a post-Unicron universe can be a process but they do their best to satisfy their desires, even the dark ones.
