For someone who lives wrapped in noise and spectacle, the absence of a message feels like a warning he does not yet understand. Upon recieving a call from Topaz he decides to go check on him, hoping to find him busy with a meeting, complaining about his phone going missing or some elaborate inconvenience dressed up as a joke. Instead, he finds a testament waiting on a spotless desk, instructions for a future without Aventurine and a single name written beneath every fortune: Dr. Veritas Ratio.
