Fics like We Didn't Start the Fire(s Of Rubicon)

Rubicon 3 was meant to be a simple job. Get in, figure out if the MIA Squad Alpha was alive or not, pillage enough Coral to buy his freedom, get out. Of course, things couldn't go that simply for Augmented Human C4-621. As if being caught between a desperate struggle between the corporations, the PCA, and the locals just trying to live their lives on their own home wasn't enough, why not throw in some conspiracies regarding hacktivist groups, cults, possibly sentient AIs, and cute aliens for good measure. But despite it all, maybe with these borrowed wings, 621 "Raven" could find freedom not just for himself, but for those around him as well. As long as he doesn't end up wanting to kill them in their sleep first.
