Fics like wish that i had said it (i was scared to let it happen)

Summer, 1999 In New York, Will Byers receives a letter postmarked from Hawkins. Inside is a single torn page, written in Mike’s messy handwriting. An entry filled with half-thoughts and omissions, ripped from a diary Will was never meant to read. In Chicago, Mike Wheeler opens an envelope with no return address. Inside is a painting drawn by Will - his style unmistakable, his hand impossible to forget. An original, sent without explanation, depicting something Mike thought was long lost. They haven’t spoken in almost ten years. Silence has hardened into distance, distance into regret. Neither of them knows who started the correspondence or why now. They only know that the letters keep coming, each one dredging up memories they tried to bury. As the past bleeds into the present, they’re forced to ask themselves what these letters are leading toward: closure, forgiveness... or a second chance neither of them is sure they deserve.
